The Father Center of New Jersey is proud to honor Rev. Cory Jones, Senior Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Burlington, NJ, as one of its 20th Anniversary Platinum Dads. Rev. Jones has been a longtime supporter of The Father Center of New Jersey’s mission, to which he was first introduced through a fellow minister, Marc Warren of The Father Center of New Jersey. Rev. Jones recalls how touched he was to see the profound impact little acts of kindness had on the men The Father Center of New Jersey serves, from providing diapers, wipes and other essentials to dads, to offering guidance on overcoming everyday challenges.
“From the start, I really appreciated the work they did,” he says. “They weren’t just helping individuals; they were strengthening families.”
Rev. Jones’ own journey of fatherhood has been complex and inspiring. A divorced and remarried father of three—ages 11, 3, and 7 months—he speaks candidly about the effort it takes to remain present in his daughter’s life, who lives in Georgia. “If she has a game or a recital, I fly down. I bring her up here for the summers and vacations, and we sometimes travel together.” His daughter plays soccer, loves theater and sings.
“When fathers are active and engaged, the entire family grows stronger. That’s what The Father Center of New Jersey is about—bridging gaps, mending fences, and building men.”
