Nina D. Melker may be one of our newest Board members of The Father Center of New Jersey, but she is also one of the most engaged members of our community. She believes deeply in the value of board service, seeing it as both a personal responsibility and a way to strengthen communities.
Nina has been in the banking industry for the last 45 years, with a range of experience in retail and lending. She spent 23 years at Yardville National Bank, where she was First Senior Vice President in charge of Community Banking. As head of the Community Banking division, Nina maintained a strong presence in the community, diversifying her time between monitoring sponsorships and donations from the bank in the community as well as serving on many boards and committees. She built and monitored a multimillion-dollar lending and deposit portfolio. She has worked at The Bank of Princeton, Hopewell Valley Community Bank and Berkshire Bank. She has been a Private Banker, assisting clients with personalized service for all retail and lending needs. She joined William Penn Bank in August 2021, and in May 2025 the bank was acquired by Mid Penn Bank, where she continues to work as a Private Banker.
Nina continues to be very active in the community, serving on numerous boards and committees. Some of the boards and committees she serves on include RWJBARNABAS Hamilton Board of Trustees, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick Board of Trustees, Hamilton Education Foundation, Ryan’s Quest, Iron Mike Foundation, Miracle League of Mercer County, Clara’s Heart, and The Father Center of New Jersey. The community has rewarded her with several awards, including Business Person of the Year from Nottingham High School FBLA, the Community Compassion Award by Contact of Mercer County, the Humanitarian Award from Kidsbridge, the Person of the Year from the Hamilton YMCA, and the Community Service Award from the Iron Mike’s/Trenton Catholic Academy. In 2014 she was inducted into the YWCA NJ Women’s Hall of Fame, and in 2016 she was installed into the Italian American National Hall of Fame. In 2025 the Princeton Mercer Chamber of Commerce recognized her with the Women of Achievement Award.
Nina has been married to her husband Michael for 41 years, and together they raised two beautiful daughters, Jillian and Jennifer. Along with their partners, Jennifer and Jay, they have been blessed with four grandchildren, Gianna, Isabella, Jackson and Jonathan.
