The Father Center of New Jersey is proud to recognize William “Bill” Davis, Client Services Specialist, as our Employee of the Month. Bill has been a vital part of our team since 2012, when he joined the organization—then known as UIH. For more than a decade, his passion for working one-on-one with clients and his commitment to community outreach have made a profound difference in the lives of the men and families we serve.
Bill’s path to this work has been unique and inspiring. Before coming to The Father Center of New Jersey, he spent 28 years at AT&T as a PBX installer and IT specialist, handling everything from switchboards and networking repairs to programming. After leaving that role in 1998, Bill volunteered at Love in the Name of Christ, where his technical expertise quickly became invaluable. But something deeper emerged.
“I was rebuilding their computer systems, but the founder noticed how I interacted with people,” Bill recalls. “She told me to put down my tools and start working with clients. That’s when I realized—working one-on-one with clients is my passion.”
Since then, Bill has built a reputation for being a steady, compassionate presence. “I understand how important it is just to listen to people—without judgment,” he explains. “As I’ve become more settled in myself, people in crisis are drawn to that.”
At The Father Center of New Jersey, Bill has become a leading voice in trauma-informed care. Recognizing the challenges many of our clients face, from Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) to systemic barriers, he helped advance the use of the Sanctuary Model within the organization.
“We realized there was something missing in job readiness,” Bill notes. “Trauma was the reason so many men struggled to hold onto employment. Understanding that has been transformational.”
Beyond his daily work, Bill remains deeply connected to national conversations on fatherhood and trauma, sharing his insights at conferences and through his own ministry, Twenty-four / Seven Ministries (24/7).
We are grateful to Bill for his dedication, wisdom and heart. His work reminds us all that it’s never too late to discover your true calling. Congratulations, Bill!
