The Father Center of New Jersey is proud to announce that Dr. Glenn Lang will receive the Robert E. Alston Legacy of Fatherhood Award at the 21st Annual Platinum Dads Celebration on June 5, 2026.
A lifelong educator, mentor, and advocate, Dr. Lang has dedicated his career to expanding educational opportunity and empowering future generations. As the former Assistant Secretary of Higher Education for Academic and Student Support Programs and Executive Director of New Jersey’s Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF), he helped shape statewide initiatives supporting student success from middle school through college. Under his leadership, EOF became a nationally recognized model for access and achievement, helping more than 43,000 students earn college degrees.
Yet among his many accomplishments, Dr. Lang considers his most meaningful role to be that of father and grandfather. A proud dad to India, Glenn II, and Miles, and “Pop Pop” to four grandchildren, he believes engaged and loving fatherhood has the power to strengthen families, uplift communities, and create brighter futures for generations to come.
A first-generation college graduate and one of fifteen siblings, Dr. Lang’s story reflects perseverance, purpose, and a lifelong commitment to service. Even in retirement, he continues to mentor students, support schools and institutions, and inspire others through his leadership and compassion.
The Robert E. Alston Legacy of Fatherhood Award honors individuals who embody the enduring values of fatherhood, mentorship, and community leadership. With the heartfelt support of Gloria Alston, wife of the late Robert E. Alston, this award continues his powerful legacy by recognizing those whose lives and work inspire others through unwavering dedication to families and community.
Join us at Platinum Dads 2026 as we celebrate Dr. Glenn Lang and all of this year’s inspiring honorees.
